Review for the Whole thing!
AP World History Review page - lots of stuff
AP World Review - keep calm and study!
Review Items in General:
Here are some items that have been recommended as good review items for the AP exam. Get them early and use them all year!
- REA's Crash Course in AP World History by Jay Harmon (he writes the test, just saying)
- Princeton Review's Cracking the AP World History Exam, by Monty Armstrong
- Bedford St. Martin's Strive for a 5 by Barbara Ozuna, Ryba Epstein, Patrick Whelan and others
- Barron's AP World History Flashcards
AP World History Prep for the Test video
Crash course World History videos - a must see on Youtube!
Tips for Multiple choice:
1. If it's been published they can't use it.
2. Most are on turning points - when things start to change
3. Know your periods (Dates don't matter, but periods do!!)
4. The wrong answers are right, but not for that question (example: The answers are right for a question on 18th century France, but the question is about 14th century France)
5. All of the answers start with the same three words
6. They are all close to the same length
7. There are only four choices rather than five
8. First 40 questions are always in time line order
9. Only 20% of the questions will come from period 1, the rest of the questions are divided evenly between the periods.
10. Be able to explain why the other answers are wrong
11. READ EVERY WORD!!! One word can make you mess up and pick the wrong choice ( 18th vs 14th century is an example).
12. 50% of your score is from the multiple choice
13. If you can narrow it to a 50/50 choice - guess. If you can't narrow it, skip it and come back if time.
14. Points break down: 1 point for correct answer, 0 points for blank answer, -1/4 point for wrong answer
